Project Details

The project comprised of the complete refurbishment of two residential blocks within the Churchill Hall compound. Works included the full strip-out and replacement of all existing bedroom and bathroom fittings,70 in total plus 2 tutor flats and the stripping and replacement of all windows. New fixtures were installed in the communal bathroom areas, including showers, toilets, IPS units and basins. New vanity units with whiterock finish were installed in each bedroom, along with new beds and wardrobes. New light fittings, electrical connections and distribution boards were installed throughout the buildings, and all plumbing and pipework was replaced. The pipework leading from each building to the external plant building was also replaced. New plant rooms were also installed on the 2nd floor of each building. All ceilings and walls were re-plastered, and all rooms within the buildings were redecorated. New vinyl flooring was laid throughout each building, and the external wall insulation was upgraded in both.

The upgrading of an old library into a computer room was negotiated into the contract after the project had commenced, and these additional works were factored into the original programme with no extension of time. The upgrade included the strip-out of all fittings, and the installation of new lighting, data points, carpeting and windows. The new computer room was subsequently decorated
