Midas donation gives £4,000 boost to Cornish football club
The new football season has kicked off with a £4,000 win for Falmouth’s local football club thanks to a donation by Midas Construction.
The team has been working on a development at Bickland Water Road Industrial Park, located near Falmouth Town AFC's Bickland Park ground.
The project on behalf of Falmouth Developments Ltd includes seven industrial buildings arranged into 17 units.
Mike Borkowski, Business Development Director for Midas Construction, said the site team was very grateful to Falmouth Town AFC for their support during the project.
He said: “As a regionally-based business we like to work closely with local communities in the areas in which we are operating, and especially those organisations who work with and inspire young people.
“The club were generous enough to let us use their parking facilities while we worked nearby and we hope this donation will go towards enhancing the facilities, equipment and opportunities for the staff, players and supporters.”
Graham Medlin from Falmouth Town AFC said: “We wish to thank Midas Construction for their support and sponsorship for the forthcoming season, we hope that we can continue to work together in the future.”
With its roots firmly in the South West, Midas Group has grown to become one of the UK’s largest and most successful privately-owned construction and property services companies.
It employs more than 500 people, with a local supply-chain and longstanding commitment to the communities it works in.
Midas’ Cornwall office in Indian Queens is responsible for a growing portfolio of work in Cornwall, which in addition to Bickland Water Road Industrial Park, includes the Skol Nansledan new primary school for the Duchy of Cornwall’s Nansledan development near Newquay; Cornwall’s new archive centre Kresen Kernow, taking shape in Redruth; and The Fitzroy, Falmouth, on behalf of Pegasus Life.
