Mi-space named as the single source housing contractor for Cornwall
Mi-space Living has been named by Cornwall Council as the sole contractor to design and build housing developments above £2 million across the county, through its housing framework.
The organisation, part of the Midas Group, one of the UK’s largest independent construction and property services providers, was recently announced as the contractor of choice for the Cornwall Council Construction Framework. With three housing projects already in the pipeline, it offers the potential to generate over £30million per annum for the construction business over the next four years.
Frameworks are hugely important to the Midas Group, providing the opportunity to win repeat business and further the firm’s strategy of building positive long-term relationships with customers.
Ian Farrell, Director for Mi-space, said: “We are really pleased to have been chosen as Cornwall Council’s strategic partner on the framework. This reflects the strong relationship we’ve developed in recent years, having worked with the authority on a number of schemes.”
“This framework is also available for use by other local authorities and housing associations, and we welcome the opportunity to also deliver to them our industry leading customer service and performance.”
Frameworks offer support as well as a simplified and highly effective procurement route for local authorities and public and private sector organisations when they look to bring forward individual construction projects; and they bring added value through early contractor engagement.
In the last three years alone Midas Group has delivered more than 50 projects with a value of around £300 million through framework agreements and strategic partnerships, including education projects, residential, retail, defence estates and varied public sector facilities.
New frameworks in the last year include the £8 billion Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) Framework, which is set to drive major investment in schools and other education facilities over the next four years, and where Midas Group was successful in lots covering the South, South East and West Midlands. More recently, the Southern Construction Division earned a place on the Dorset County Council Framework.
