Technology firm brings 150 jobs to Weston-super-Mare following interior works by Midas

Cutting-edge commercial space at Weston Gateway Business Park has become home to Smart infrastructure solutions organisation Costain, following completion of works by Midas Interiors, part of the Midas Group.

The works included fit-out of a 13,500 sq ft building to create a new, state-of-the-art technology centre; together with the remodelling of a second 13,000sq ft unit with high-quality finishes to work, production, meeting and demonstration spaces designed to maximise creativity.

With an architectural design promoting collaboration, combined with high-quality features and finishes including a virtual reality suite and an abundance of 4k screens, staff and customers across different disciplines will be immersed in creating and interacting with innovative concepts and designs in leading edge, technology-based infrastructure solutions.

Derek Quinn, Executive Director of Midas Construction, said: “We are pleased to have carried out these works for our customer, Costain, and to welcome them to the Weston Gateway Business Park. This development has enabled Costain to offer significant employment opportunities in the area and has given Midas the opportunity to continue to support its strong local supply chain.”

The project marks Midas’s fifth in five years completed at the Junction 21enterprise zone. The company has completed a further three projects in as many years in Weston-super-Mare for leading higher-education provider, Weston College, including the award-winning refurbishment and extension of Winter Gardens, a new Construction Skills Centre and a Health and Active Living Centre.
